HOSTS of the POD

The story of Fueling Creativity in Education begins long before the podcast itself. Cyndi Burnett and Matthew Worwood first met when Matthew enrolled in one of Cyndi’s creativity classes at Buffalo State University. Impressed by her expertise, Matthew later invited Cyndi to appear in his documentary Creativity in Education: Exploring the Imbalance.

Nearly a decade later, Matthew reconnected with Cyndi to ask if she might be interested in starting a podcast dedicated to creativity in education. From that conversation, Fueling Creativity in Education was born. Since launching during the pandemic, the two have forged a wonderful professional partnership—meeting regularly to plan episodes, co-authoring a book together, and presenting at national conferences.

This page offers more about their professional backgrounds, their shared mission to bridge research and practice in creative teaching and teaching creativity, and the story of the Emerging Scholar in Residence program, introduced in 2023. Each season, the scholar joins the hosts as a special guest, offering fresh perspectives that connect creativity research with real-world educational practice.
