The Listen and Learn Series represents a collection of short podcast episodes centered on a targeted theme to support creativity in education. A sequence of listen-and-learn episodes is released during the show’s off-season in the summer and winter months to support informal professional learning from a distance. Past themes have included a review of the podcast’s 10 actions for fueling creativity in education, generative AI, and a review of classical creativity literature for education.

This year, Cyndi and Matt started to think more about using the podcast to support a school or department’s professional learning community (PLC). PLCs are increasingly becoming part of a school’s approach to professional learning, with each community often in charge of identifying learning goals and seeking resources to support those goals. The podcast now incorporates short episodes that target these groups, providing topics of inquiry and raising questions that educators and administrators can explore together. Matt and Cyndi are also active on C2C’s Curiosity to Connect Network, manage a LinkedIn group, and are available to engage directly through virtual or in-person workshops.

Cyndi and Matt are committed to developing an online webinar series that will provide a deep dive into their 10 actions for fueling creativity in the classroom. These actions emerged from over 100 interviews with creativity scholars and educators who were asked to provide three tips for creativity in education. Learners will gain access to ten webinars, each sharing research that connects to insights gained from the podcast, as well as a 15-minute 1:1 virtual call with either Cyndi or Matt to discuss ideas on how the learner can integrate one of the actions in the classroom.
